CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF tatigue life criterion ASSESSMENT OF STEEL BRIDGES RESIDUAL LIFE

Abstract

The paper presents the stress-strain state analysis of the problems of assessment of residual life of steel bridges and fatigue life criteria. The concept is suggested for the use of test results obtained in the field of the low-cycle fatigue necessary for the assessment of the bridge residual life. The methodology is suggested for the construction of the correlation dependence between the fatigue life in the small- and multi-cycle fatigue areas. the rational for determination of the safety residual life is suggested in this paper.
