MERCHANTS KOLOKOL'NIKOV’S HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE IN TYUMEN
Abstract
The paper is devoted to the formation of the architectural image of Tyumen in line with the interests of local merchants who played the crucial role in the development of Siberian cities. Research is conducted into the determination of the role of housing initiated by and at the expense of - Kolokol'nikovs, a big merchant family in Tyumen. This paper presents the review of the most significant sites of historical and cultural heritage by Kolokol'nikovs of the late 19th and 20th centuries. The architectural and stylistic characteristics of individual buildings are described and the analysis of the modern urban situation are presented herein.
