Stages of Interaction Between Liquid and Solid Metals

Abstract

The paper presents the analysis of experimental and theoretical research which shows that metallic binding between the materials obtained by welding occurs due to chemical bonds between atoms, namely: ion, covalent, metallic. Their formation process is similar to topochemical reactions, and successively flows into the four main physicochemical stages which include the formation of physical contact; atom activation of binding surfaces; collectivization of valence electrons; their three-dimensional interaction at the contacting boundary.
