Shape and Space of Voroshilov Health Resort in Sochi
Abstract
The paper presents research of one of the largest pre-war health resorts in the USSR. The spatial and planning structure, design and architecture of these buildings are described and archive photographs never published before are presented herein. Voroshilov health resort is regarded in terms of the transition period from constructivism to historicism of the Soviet architecture. The architectural traditions and innovations of the 1930s are shown in this paper.
