Abstract

The paper considers the problem of organization of the objective-spatial environment for children in public buildings. Children's corners appear today in administrative buildings, banks, libraries, clinics, shops, airports, etc. The analysis of leisure spaces shows that the spatial and functional parameters of such places depend on their size and function and the time of the adult's stay there. A children's corner typology is proposed herein. There are open and closed children's corners. The design and functioning of the objective-spatial environment for children depend on the type of leisure activities. The described principles of multifunctionality and transformability of objective-spatial environment elements allow increasing leisure activities in small space. The main elements include seats, places for activities and storage and are determined by the functional purpose of children’s corners
