Abstract
Purpose: The aim is to identify the chronological dynamics of changes in requirements and approaches to the improvement and landscaping of industrial areas in the planning structure of Novosibirsk over four historical stages (before 1917, 1920–1930s, 1940–1950s, 1960–1980s) and determine the relationship between the industrial structure, the class of hazard and the improvement.
Methodology: Based on the analysis of a wide range of sources (archival documents, historical and urban planning, encyclopedias, regulatory documents, and satellite images from 1965 and 1979), four historical stages of the industrial development are identified.
The study also includes the comparative legal method, cartography to assess the dynamics of green spaces, and statistical data processing of classes of hazard.
Research findings: The evolution stages of the industrial sector are identified, the development of regulations of the improvement and landscaping of industrial areas are analyzed, and their impact on the urban structure is shown.
