Abstract

The article provides an overview of advanced mathematical modeling methods of temperature fields of enclosing structures. The relevance of the study is due to the need to increase the energy efficiency of construction sites, since traditional analytical methods do not fully consider the geometry of nodes, heterogeneity of materials, humidity and convection.

Purpose: The purpose is the literature review in the field of temperature fields of enclosing structures.

Methodology: Russian and foreign research into specialized software, such as COSMOS DesignStar and COMSOL Multiphysics, are analyzed. Considered are approaches to modeling complex junctions, accounting for joint heat and moisture transfer in porous materials (aerated concrete) and evaluation of convective heat transfer in ventilated layers and non-stationary processes in groundwater.

Research findings: It is shown that numerical methods (finite elements, finite differences) and combined models allow predicting condensation and freezing with high reliability, optimizing the thickness of thermal insulation and reducing operating costs. The high efficiency of mathematical modeling is shown as a tool to design energy-efficient buildings, taking into account complex physical processes.
