Актуальность исследования обусловлена значением творческого наследия Ле Корбюье как одного из ключевых архитекторов XX в., чьи градостроительные идеи оказали существенное влияние на развитие современной урбанистики. Особый интерес представляет его работа в Индии, где он смог воплотить свои теоретические концепции в проекте города Чандигарх (1950–1960 гг.) – единственном реализованном примере планировки целого города.

Цель исследования заключается в анализе архитектурно-градостроительных решений Ле Корбюзье, заложенных в проект Чандигарха, включая его социально-политическую и эстетическую концепции, а также их влияние на формирование современного градостроительства.

В результате исследования выявлены основные социально-политические и архитектурно-дизайнерские концепции Шарля-Эдуарда, заложенные в общую схему генплана, решения пешеходно-транспортных сетей, садово-парковых зон и архитектурные решения административного центра. Проект Чандигарха демонстрирует уникальный синтез западных модернистских идей и восточного контекста, что делает его важным объектом изучения в истории архитектуры и градостроительства.

This work is important to study the creative heritage of Le Corbuier as one of the key architects of the 20th century, whose urban planning ideas had a significant impact on the development of modern urbanism. Of particular interest is his activity in India, where he implemented his theoretical concepts in the Chandigarh city project (1950-1960).

Purpose

Purpose: The aim of this work is to analyze architectural and urban planning solutions of Le Corbusier, incorporated into the Chandigarh project, including his socio-political and aesthetic concepts, as well as their influence on the formation of modern urban planning.

Research findings

Research findings: The main socio-political and architectural design concepts of Charles-Edouard, are identified. They are incorporated in the general scheme of the master plan, solutions for pedestrian and transport networks, garden and park areas and architectural solutions for the administrative center. The Chandigarh project demonstrates a unique syn-thesis of Western and Eastern modernist ideas, making it an important object of study in the history of architecture and urban planning.
