Объектом настоящего исследования является историко-архитектурная среда центра крупного города, предметом  методика выявления высотных ограничений в исторической застройке города.</p><p>Цель работы – разработка методики выявления границ высотности новой застройки в историческом  центре  крупного  города  на  основе  ландшафтно-визуального  анализа с учетом изученного теоретического и практического опыта формирования высотных ограничений в исторических центрах городов.</p><p>Предложенная комплексная методика была апробирована в 20212022 гг. в условиях исторического центра г. Пензы и получила высокую оценку  профессионального сообщества. Сформированная методика вобрала в себя  результаты отечественных и зарубежных исследований и практических подходов. Основным из ее достоинств является комплексность и высокое качество получаемых результатов.</p><p>Методика достаточно универсальна и может использоваться в условиях различных исторических городов, адаптивна для применения в малых городах, а также приемлема с введением корректировок в крупнейших городах. Методика может использоваться как в целом, так и отдельными этапами в зависимости от градостроительных задач.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The authenticity preservation of buildings in the historical center of the city and its panoramic perception, are impossible without regulating the number of storeys of new buildings that appear during the reconstruction, renovation and development of green areas.</p><sec><title>Purpose</title><p>Purpose: Methodology development of historical and architectural environment of the large city center to identify the critical altitude of historical buildings.</p></sec><sec><title>Methodology</title><p>Methodology: the landscape visual analysis, based on theoretical and practical experience in the critical altitude principle.</p></sec><sec><title>Research findings</title><p>Research findings: The proposed methodology was tested in 20212022 in the historical center of the city of Penza. It is highly appreciated by the professional community. This methodology includes research of Russian and foreign scientists and practical  approaches. High quality of results are obtained.</p></sec><sec><title>Practical implications</title><p>Practical implications: The proposed methodology is quite universal and can be used in various historical cities, small towns, and also in largest cities.
